Blue Jackets have traded forward R.J. Umberger

The Blue Jackets have traded forward R.J. Umberger and a fourth-round pick in 2015 to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for power forward Scott Hartnell, The Dispatch has learned.
The acquisition of Hartnell makes the Blue Jackets faster and more physical, and the trading of Umberger comes as a huge relief for Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen. Umberger had requested a trade at his end-of-season meeting with management following a late-season spat with coach Todd Richards over a series of healthy scratches. This is what happens when you have a coach that got an contract extension. The Pittsburg coach was fired but they gave Richards an extension same oh same oh.
