Blue Jackets GM

It's that Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson chose (unwisely) to announce afterthe deadline that Nash had been the one to demand a trade and set the events in motion that ended in a rather inconclusive way. Why would Howson do that,
I have never seen a GM destroy a team from the inside like he has.

Howson and Priest

This is from another Jacket's blog,,,Congrats to Sammy! Able to leave the bj's for a good team and organization. I can't believe this organization is so classless to actually remove Nash's images of the web site and banners from the arena. Ownership is a disgrace, plus Howson and Priest should be fired! Craig Patrick, you are a disappointment!

I have to agree with this blogger.

Rick Nash

So Nash’s agent says “However, if a deal is not reached, then the list of acceptable teams will not change at a later date”. Make no mistake, this is Rick Nash putting pressure on Howson to be traded now. This statement essentially nullifies the main reason for Howson to wait until the season is over, which is to get more teams in on the bidding. I would not be surprised to see a deal happening very soon.
Since Howson has screwed up this team it is interesting he can't move Nash.

Antoine Vermette Traded

NHL trade deadline approaching in five days, Columbus sent Antoine Vermette to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for a 2012 second round pick, a 2013 fifth rounder and goaltender Curtis McElhinney.Via Aaron Portzline at Puckrakers, Howson talked about looking to the future:"This is moving forward," Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson said. "We have to move forward. It wasn't working this season as we expected. We're going to move forward and this is part of the process of reshaping the team."

Howson is the worst GM I have ever seen. Another trade for unknowns and an injured goalie. How stupid is that. This is not moving forward wow what an idiot.

NHL Trades

We've looked at the evidence and after some careful deliberation, we're now

ready to come to a conclusion: The Columbus Blue Jackets are the most
dysfunctional team in the National Hockey League.Among those at the arena Thursday was Craig Patrick, senior advisor of hockey operations for the Columbus Blue Jackets, who besides owning the
worst record in the NHL apparently are taking offers for star forward Rick
Nash. has given the Columbus Blue Jackets a list of five teams
to which he'll OK a trade, the Columbus Dispatch reports. The Dispatch
reports that the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, San
Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple

Rick Nash reports from blogs and newspaper

The Blue Jackets, trudging toward the worst record in franchise history, may be on the verge of trading the face of the franchise.According to reports by numerous media outlets, the Blue Jackets have notified a handful of clubs that Rick Nash -- the franchise leader in almost every offensive category and the club's captain since 2008 -- could be traded if GM Scott Howson is presented with a suitable offer."We're open to all options to try to improve the team," Howson told The Columbus Dispatch on Tuesday.Nash, 27, has a no-movement clause in his contract. But after the Blue Jackets approached him and agent Joe Resnick over the weekend, Nash agreed to provide them with a list of clubs he'd be willing to join, The Dispatch reported."The last couple of weeks, there have been so many rumors," Nash told reporters in Columbus on Tuesday. "And when a team loses, more rumors keep on surfacing. That's how it seems to be right now."I'm a Blue Jacket right now. I've played my whole career here and it's a special place to me. So, as of right now, I'm a Blue Jacket."It could be a sign the Blue Jackets are planning a massive overhaul of the roster.
Previously it's been reported that the Jackets are trying to trade Jeff Carter, and it's believed that Antoine Vermette, Derick Brassard, Sammy Pahlsson and others may be available via trade before the Feb. 27 trade deadline.

Rick Nash

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS: So maybe there is going to be a Rick Nash
trade-deadline saga after all -- while Columbus GM Scott Howson declined to
comment through a team spokesman on a report from Renaud Lavoie of RDS that
Nash is "on the market,"
My question is how can they keep Howson, amazing.

Blue Jackets Carter

But how many games does he have left with the Blue Jackets? “I haven'tasked for a trade,” Carter said. “Nothing. I'm here to play hockey.”General manager Scott Howson would not comment on trade reports regarding Carter,The best part of a Blue Jackets game in San Jose may be that half the viewing audience back home is asleep. This one, like many of the others, could have starred any number of horror characters. It was painful to watch our defense is pathetic.
